About the Association:

Are the preconference sessions included with Full Conference? 

The preconference sessions are not included with your full conference registration.

Can I register a guest?

Yes. Registered guests are admitted to the Welcome Reception and the Exhibit Hall only. Guest registration does not include conference materials or admission to the scientific sessions or corporate sponsored symposia. Guest badges must be worn at all times.

Can I register my Group?

Yes, we have two group categories:

Group of 10 or more: To qualify, you must be part of a group of 10 or more people who belong to the same company or organization and are not students. Group must register at the same time to receive the discount.  Group Student: Five or more students must work in the same lab to qualify. Groups must register at the same time to receive the discount. Valid student identification is required. Please click here Group Registration to register your group.

What type of currency is accepted for registration?

The British Pound will be accepted for registration.

What forms of payment are accepted?

Payments by credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, and American Express) are preferable. A 4% credit card fee applies.

Payments by bank transfer will be considered depending on your circumstances and a £25 administrative fee will apply. Please note that after June 16 bank transfer will no longer be accepted.

Cash and credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, and American Express) will be accepted on site.

Can I request a registration refund?

The deadline for refund requests must be received via emailed by June 16, 2017. To obtain a refund, a receipt copy of your registration is required for the cancellation request to be processed. After June 16, 2017, there will be no refunds issued for cancellations of any type, including no shows. All refunds will be accessed a £80 administrative fee. Email request to .

I lost my badge, can I get a replacement?

Yes; the cost is £120.

Are children allowed at AAIC?

To provide all AAIC attendees an optimal learning environment, children under the age of 18 are not permitted at any AAIC functions, including educational sessions, registration, Welcome Reception or the Exhibit Hall floor. Child care is not available at ExCeL London. However, your hotel concierge may be able to assist you.

When is the Welcome Reception and what time does it start?

The Welcome Reception is scheduled for Sunday, July 16 from 6 – 8:30 p.m.

How can I become an ISTAART member?

To become an ISTAART member please click here.  At AAIC, you can also stop by the Alzheimer’s Association booth and complete the membership application.  ISTAART professional fees are £135 and student fees are £56.

Are sessions recorded?

Yes, many sessions are recorded.  Please check the Conference Recording counter at the registration desk for more information.

Where can I review conference abstracts?

Abstracts can be viewed on the USB in the registration bag or on the AAIC mobile app.

Will attendees be provided transportation passes?

Yes, Oyster cards will be provided to each registered attendee and registered guest.

Can I purchase CE (Continuing Education)?

Yes, CE can be purchased when you register or onsite at the Continuing Education counter registration desk.

How many CE credits can I claim?

Credit Designation (AAIC)

The Postgraduate Institute for Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 26.0. AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Can I get a certificate of attendance?

Yes, a certificate is printed along with your conference badge.

What is ISTAART PIA Day?

ISTAART is a professional society representing all areas of Alzheimer’s disease investigation—it is a dynamic forum for creating and advancing professional connections, as well as for deepening one’s knowledge of specific research topics through ISTAART’s Professional Interest Areas (PIAs.)

PIAs are an assembly of ISTAART members with common subspecialties or interests—they provide a forum for networking and education, offer mentoring and career guidance for junior scientists, and help researchers share the latest techniques and information.

PIA Day will take place on Saturday, July 15 at ExCel London in the Platinum Suits 1-4. Thirteen of the 17 PIAs will present 90-minute scientific sessions. Many of the sessions will be followed by annual business meetings. The event is open to current and new ISTAART members at no charge.
